Catholic in foundation, the House of Prayer is a private retreat house open to all who desire to grow in their relationship with God. It is a self-sustaining, non-profit organization. The ministry is not subsidized by any Diocese, individual church or religious congregation. All of the financial support for the House of Prayer comes from donations for the services we provide: spiritual companioning, retreats, programs; and from pledges, gifts and special fund-raisers.
We continually thank GOD, and we thank ALL OF YOU who have given of yourselves in time, prayer, and in financial contributions to support the mission and ministry of this House. It is through the generosity and support of friends like you that enables the House of Prayer to continue to respond to your thirst for God.
If you are not currently a supporter of this mission and ministry and wish to begin, here are some specific ways you can help:
*Pledges:
It is the consistent monthly, quarterly and annual donations that help us meet our regular operating expenses. We invite you to be a supporting member of this ministry by committing to a specific amount, on a regular basis, on which we can count.
*Endowment Fund: This fund is key to securing the future of this ministry. As the fund grows, the interest may be used to meet operating expenses.
*Mary Ann Kretschmer Scholarship Fund: This fund is used to help those who are in need of spiritual nourishment but do not have the funds to do so and to sponsor programs for special groups in need.
*Special Projects: Presently we have two special projects. The Paver Project is a way of remembering loved ones, living or deceased, by having a brick inscribed for them. Engraved pavers are part of our Labyrinth Walk of Remembrance. House of Prayer Goes Green is an on-going project to make the House of Prayer more eco-friendly and to take better care of our planet Earth both now and for the future.
*Leaving a Legacy: Through our Leaving a Legacy program, you can make a difference in the lives of future generations by make a lasting contribution to the House of Prayer through a charitable giving annuity, planned giving or remembering us in your will.
*Gift Certificates: Gift certificates are available for any amount good towards any program or retreat. Give a gift and support the House of Prayer at the same time.
*Gift Cards:
Gift cards are a great way to give to the House of Prayer. We can always use gift cards to home improvement stores to help with our maintenance needs or to office supply stores to offset our office operating expenses.
*Volunteers: We are always in need of volunteers at the House of prayer. Won't you share your time and talent with us?
